In his speech, titled “From the Vineyard to the University: Fermenting Knowledge, Experience, and Culture,” Vangelis Gerovassiliou stated:

“It is an honour that fills me with joy, gratitude, and responsibility, as I believe it is bestowed not only upon me but upon an entire community that serves, with dedication and selflessness, the Greek land, the vineyard, and the pursuit of excellence in winemaking — guided by the principles of integrity and consistency.
This distinction transcends my personal journey and highlights something deeper: the close relationship between education and production.”

Concluding his speech, he emphasized the shared ground between knowledge and creation — between the vineyard and the university:

“I hope we all continue to cultivate — each within our own ecosystem — knowledge, responsibility, and the joy of creation, which are the very essence of culture.”
