Information for vintage wine

Through maturation the wine obtains darker shades, enriches its aromatic complexion and emerges its savory richness, creating a balanced and complex ensemble. 


The bottles need to be conserved in a horizontal position, in a dark and cool place with as stable as possible temperature and humidity conditions. It is advised to decant all old vintage wines for approximately 30 minutes before drinking.

The factors

The variety, the differentiation of the climatic conditions each year, the vinification style, the ageing in oak barrels at the appropriate temperature and humidity levels and the proper conservation in the bottle are factors that determine the ability of a wine to mature.


Maturation at Ktima Gerovassiliou

Ktima Gerovassiliou wines age in new French oak barrels, in the underground cellar at ideal temperature and humidity conditions. The maturation continues in the bottle, in an underground space with state-of-the-art equipment of conservation. 



At our electronic shop you have the opportunity to purchase our old vintages. Bottles of 0.75L and 1.5L are available for sale. The bottles of 3L and plus are available only directly from the winery to secure their transportation.The delivery of the wines will be suspended, when temperature conditions are not acceptable for their transportation (e.g. July, August).



If you encounter a problem with the wine you have received, you must contact us immediately. The competent department will look into the issue and act accordingly. No returns will be accepted after 5 days from the delivery day.
