Thodoris Koutsogiannopoulos at the Gerovassiliou Wine Museum

Events

Monday, 9 November 2015, at 19.00, Thodoris Koutsogiannopoulos, film critic, comes to the Gerovassiliou Wine Museum and talks to oenophiles and cinephiles about “wine in cinema".

For the unique case of the documentary “Mondovino” and the lonely exception of the movie “Sideways”, but also for the decorative use of wine in cinema, in comparison to the gradual acceptance of an informal type that could be called culinary comedy or gastronomical drama.

This viti-vinicultural year, our lectures are ideally paired with thematic KrasTests1. Wine plays in cinema and we play with wine. In a KrasTest, different than the rest, the estate’s oenologists prepare games with wine. Learning through play, it works even for wine.

After great demand, we dedicate one KrasTest to usual and unusual combinations of wine and food. A famous chef joins us not to cook but to talk in one of our lectures about wine and its place on our table and more!

Also, on the occasion of the enrichement of our museum collection with a unique collection of ancient Greek pottery for drinking wine, a guest lecturer gives a talk on the evolution of the wine “glass” through time. And in a third KrasTest a flying sommelier2 introduces us to the importance of the glass in wine tastings.

Least but not last our favorite KrasTest will be repeated this year, to introduce new oenophiles to the world of wine.

Stay tuned, register to our newsletter, follow us on facebook and twitter and you will be informed for all of our events mentioned above and more.
