The Malagousia founds its glass
On the occasion of the release of Domaine Gerovassiliou Malagousia for the first time in Greece, the winemaker Evangelos Gerovassiliou invited the 10th generation owner of the famous Austrian Riedel Crystal Industry Georg Riedel and 14 professional wine tasters in a wine tasting in order to find the ideal glass for the charismatic varietal of Malagousia!
The oenologist who believed from the beginning to the potentials of this old Greek varietal and he vinified it for the first time, he rescued it and he revived it, the most famous crystal glass-maker in the world and 14 discerning palates, tasted 5 different labels of Malagousia in 17 different glasses each.
After a very interesting discussion, comparisons, agreements and disagreements the Riedel glass that has prevailed is the Sauvignon Blanc glass.
It is the first time that a Greek white variety is presented in the official catalogue of Riedel. Three different glasses will be proposed for the varietal of Malagousia.
