At 8.00pm the composer Dimitris Maramis will present for the first time his new project “Symposium”.

Symposium is a cycle of songs on wine and love through the different periods of Greek poetry from ancient times to today. For the first time a project of songs dedicated to wine and human pleasures is being added to the Greek music list of works.

The composer sets to music ancient, hellenistic, byzantine, phanariote, interwar and contemporary Greek poetry on insobriety, the harvest and the vine, the Bacchanalian orgies, the delights and sweetness of love. Poems and texts of Euripides, Anacreon, John the Evangelist, A. Christopoulos, K. Krystallis, G. Drossinis, K.P. Kavafis, Myrtiotissa, N. Lapathiotis, Y. Ritsos and more are the pieces that compose Symposium.
