Silver Medal for Avaton 2006 in the BIWC 2012

Domaine Gerovassiliou Avaton 2006, a blend of the three indigenous Greek varieties Limnio, Mavroudi, Mavrotragano, was awarded with a Silver Medal in the BIWC 2012 (Balkans International Wine Competition 2012).

The BIWC (www.balkanswine.eu) is a new wine competition that was held this year for the first time and producers from all Balkan countries can participate.

More than 400 wines from the Balkan region were tasted and judged by some of the most esteemed Masters of Wine, such as Konstantinos Lazarakis MW - the only Master of Wine in the Balkans-, Caroline Gilby MW, Christy Canterbury MW, Paul Liversedge MW and many more, helping the promotion of the Balkan wines in the rest of the world.
