For the first time the International Correspondence organizes its annual meeting in Greece. Two years ago the winemaker and collector Vangelis Gerovassiliou accepted with great honor and joy the invitation of the rest of the members to organize the meeting in Greece, an invitation that resulted due to the Wine Museum Gerovassiliou and the special collection of 2.500 corkscrews.

Their five-day trip to Thessaloniki covers thematic meetings -among others, a presentation of great patents of corkscrews and a unique corkscrew auction- visits to archeological sites and museums (Pella-Vergina), a cruise to Mount Athos and a tour to the Roman, Byzantine and modern Thessaloniki. Throughout the journey the visitors will have the chance to taste quality Greek cuisine and quality Greek wines. The meeting will close with a tour and the official dinner at the Wine Museum Gerovassiliou.

It is worth mentioning that a collector from Norway, Mr. Helgir Solheim, -on the occasion of the meeting- will donate to the Wine Museum Gerovassiliou 6 Scandinavian corkscrews inspired by the Greek mythology and wine. In his letter he mentions that he makes this donation for one more reason: "…in these times, many talk about Greece’s debts to Europe, but many forget what Europe owes to Greece. I will only mention some: democracy, culture, art and wine."
