Museum Collection Red

Protected Geographical Indication Epanomi

Characteristics

The Museum Collection Red is a combination of five red varieties cultivated on the estate: Limnio, Mavroudi, Mavrotragano, Syrah, and Merlot.
Following multiple taste trials, Vangelis Gerovassiliou chose oak barrels for the best maturing and sensory characteristics, to create a collectors’ wine with rich aromatic characteristics and a long life.

This wine has a bright, deep-purple colour and complex bouquet of ripe dark fruits (wild cherry, gooseberries) as well as smoky and spicy notes, the result of its long interaction with the French oak barrels.
Lively on the palate, successfully balancing the well-processed tannins and condensed aroma and giving it a long aftertaste.

Best served at 16-18 °C.

Food pairing

Game, lamb with vegetables, red meat fillets, red and white grilled meats, hard cheeses.

Available only from the Wine Museum Shop.
